WORK EXPERIENCE

• Leading the team that transform the banner system and the students data of University of Jeddah from  the King Abdualziz University system in 2015.
• Managing the student information systems (graduate and undergraduate) at king Abdulaziz University.
• Leading the team that captures and documents all the processes and procedures of the Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Abdualziz University according with the requirement of the ISO 9001:2000.
• Leading the team that develops the e-admission system in the Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Abdualziz University.
• Initiating the electronic Archiving project for the student documents in the Deanship of Admission and Registration at king Abdulaziz University. My achievements can be summarized as:

   

  • Putting a full plan for the electronic Archiving project.
  • Managing the implementation of the project.
  • Expanding the project to include the Deanship of Student Affairs, Deanship of Graduate Studies and the University Colleges.

     

• Established the student services center in the Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Abdualziz University.
• Redesigning the student transcript and improving the design of the student certificate.
• Redesigning and improving the website of the Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Abdualziz University.
• Developing the evaluation criteria for selecting the proposed Human Resource and Finance systems for the Jeddah Municipality.
• Writing various Requests for Proposal (RFP) for specific IT applications required by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• Designing and managing the implementation of the information technology infrastructure at Jeddah Community College.
• Providing consultation on the design and development of some of Data Warehousing projects as well as a general review of the internal control and quality assurance procedures for the SAP Computer Center at Saudi Aramco Company.
• Reviewing and evaluating the proposed Archiving System and the Information Security System for the computer Center at Okaz Organization for Press and Publication.
• Evaluating the existing Flight Information Display System (FIDS) at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah for the Turning Point Company. Also, proposing a new system that meets the current requirements of the airport.
• Evaluating the Paradigm Plus (P+) software, developed by ProtoSoft Company, for IGLOO project at Computer Research Institute of Montreal. The P+ is an object-oriented Meta-CASE tool that provides support for the software life cycle.
• Redesigning the user interface of the Facility Support System (FSS) at the Samarec Company. Also, teaching several courses targeted for the FSS users.

• Participating in the establishment of the Deanship of Admission and Registration  at University of Jeddah in 2015.
• Participating in the establishment of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdualziz University in 2006.
• Participating in the establishment of the Jeddah Community College at king Abdulaziz University in 2003.
• Participating in designing the curriculum for the computer science, information technology and information system programs in the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University.

• Secretary General for Jeddah Community College at king Abdulaziz University (2 years).
• Secretary General for the Computer Science department at king Abdulaziz University (3 years).
• Academic Advisor for the Computer Science department at king Abdulaziz University (2 years).
• Teaching several courses in computer science and information systems at King Abdulaziz University.
• Consulting and writing computer books for the Technology Institute (AL-Almia) in Saudi Arabia.
• Reviewer for the Proceeding of the International Conference on Computing and Information (ICCI) for 1998 and 2000.
• In my Ph.D. research, I developed new techniques (Architecture and algorithms) for modeling, and designing distributed data warehousing. Most of the research is published in a refereed journal and a refereed conference.
• In my M.Sc. thesis, I defined and implemented the database scheme of an object-oriented model of documentation in a business process model using the functionality of Gemstone object-oriented database management system. Most of the research is published in a refereed conference.
• Developing the HyperRef system, a graphical user interface for the manipulation of BibTex database supporting computer-aided discussion and documentation of research literature, implemented in C on the UNIX platform. This work is part of my Master program at McGill University.
